First released more than 175 years ago by Glenmorangie's founders, the original Glenmorangie 10YO was known for its mellow tones and delicacy of flavour. To give Original a delicious, go-anywhere finesse, Glenmorangie make it in their giraffe-high stills, then they age it 10 years in bourbon casks to absorb all manner of delectable flavours. As Dr Bill, Glenmorangie's freethinking Director of Whisky Creation, enjoyed a cup of his favourite Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, the notion of Signet first came to him. At once his mind filled with spiralling mocha flavours that he could not forget. It would take him years to bring this unprecedented whisky to life. But in its tiramisu tones and melting chocolate, you can taste his most delicious imaginings. Signet begins with Glenmorangie's precious chocolate malt spirit, made just once a year in their giraffe-high stills. Its espresso-like intensity fills the Distillery with aromas more familiar in an Italian coffee bar. Over the years, they temper its power with rare and treasured casks. Bourbon for creaminess. Sherry for sweetness. The spice of virgin charred oak. All balanced by some of the oldest whisky they own. The result? A velvet explosion of flavour. Bursts of bitter mocha, sizzling spice and waves of dark chocolate, mellowed by smooth butterscotch. Whisky, as you have never tasted it before.

Hibiki Harmony encapsulates the harmony that exists between Japanese nature and people. Plum and roses on the nose backed up by a hint of mizunara oak and dark chocolate. Oily in texture and delightful in taste.

This is a wonderfully rich and complex single malt. Opening with rich and spicy aromas of crème brulee, heather honey and crumbled cinnamon, intensely fruity notes follow - fresh pineapple dressed with a scattering of sun-kissed lemon zest. There's a hint of freshly-baked sponge cake too, warm from the oven, and you'll find cinnamon again, but toasted shards this time. Citrus and vanilla notes linger in the aromatic waves of peat smoke.

Named Best Spirit in the World in the Spirit Journal, on two separate occasions, the intense balance of the flavours found in Highland Park 18YO owes everything to the five traditional keystones of production, honoured for over 220 years. Slow-burning, aromatic peat from Hobbister Moor; hand-turned floor maltings, Sherry seasoned European oak casks, cool maturation in the temperate island climate and a long and unhurried harmonisation process. Highland Park 18YO is predominantly matured in 1st fill European oak Sherry-seasoned casks, delivering a remarkable complexity over time. It delivers lingering layers of sweet honeyed malt wrapped up in subtle floral peat smoke. Over 18 years, the cool Northern climate causes the whisky to age slowly and evenly, providing balanced maturation and depth of flavour.

Jack Daniel's Bonded Tennessee Whiskey is Bottled-in-Bond, aged in select barrels for added depth and character. At 100 proof, the flavour delivers layered notes of caramel, rich oak, and spice giving way to a pleasantly lingering finish. The Bottled-In-Bond Act (1897) stipulates that the whiskey must be: From a single distillery; From one distilling season; Bottled at 100 proof; Aged in a federally bonded warehouse for at least four years (seasons to mature)

An interesting twist on Johnnie Walker Black Label, Double Black was rolled out for general release in 2011. Double Black adds to the normal Black Label profile by including more Islay whisky and casks that have been heavily charred, giving a more intense flavour with a greater emphasis on smoke while keeping true to the sophisticated Johnnie Walker style.
